Gay Bride of Frankenstein was a concept album created by the Monster Makers during the RPM Challange in 2007 and it first premiered as a rock musical at the Players' Ring in Portsmouth, NH in 2008. It was then invited to participate in the New York Muscial Theatre Festival off-Broadway the following year. The Bride then returned to NH in 2010, playing a sold-out critically-aclaimed three week run at Seacoast Repertory Theatre. In January 2011 she played to a standing room only crowd at Joe's Pub in New York City.
“Top Ten Cast Album of 2009!”
TalkinBroadway.com
“Ranging from pop ballads to face-melting guitar rock! Like the undead who inhabit it, "Gay Bride" lingers long after its end, due in part to the memorable songs, irreverent humor and warmth.”
Seacoast Online
“One of the best of these recent try-outs is a wacky, homo-sexy version of Scooby Doo called GAY BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN.”
Attitude - UK's Leading Gay Magazine
“The girl-girl love story, depicted in earnest, provides a welcome emotional hook that focuses the show and distinguishes it in its camp horror musical subgenre.”
Theatremainia.com
“No review of this show is complete without a mention of the band who actually have a part in the show. Known as the Monster Makers, were sensational!”
Examiner.com
“...more accurately, though admittedly less flashily, titled Fanboy Lesbian Scooby-Doo Bride of Frankenstein. And if that seems like fun to you, you're in for a treat. I liked this goofy, energetic show!”
NYTheatre.com
“Gay Bride of Frankenstein was conceived on a hot summer night in a hazy fog of friend-fueled laughter, brainstorming and all-around silliness.”
BroadwayWorld.com
“...this swinging, grooving and grinding rock-comic book-musical is a must see on the trick-or-treat circuit.”
