Have you ever dreamed of reaching for the stars; stepping outside of the box to realize your ambitions? Candice Arcuri (known as Resa Candice) recognized that dream in early childhood. It seems as though the moment she could speak she was destined to share her voice with the world.
Resa was born on February 17th, 1983 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada where she was raised by her loving family. Supported in all aspects of her life, Resa was enrolled in various musical programs including choirs, coaching and schools. Graduating high school at the early age of 17, Resa was off to Red Deer College where she majored in classical voice and was elected President of the Music Society in her second year.
Returning to Calgary after college wasn’t easy for the R&B/Soul singer. She believed she had found her musical niche but there wasn’t a market for her genre. Determined to succeed, Resa was introduced to the Calgary Hip Hop scene. Though well acquainted with Hip Hop, she had never reached out and worked in this style.
Discovering that she had a common ground with many of these artists and producers, Resa developed some strong collaborative relationships. Among her alliances are After 6 Entertainment (Vancouver), Lightning Bolt Records (Calgary) and her most recent partnerships with Toronto producer SOUL and Vancouver artist Blak Ace to name a few.
Close to her family and friends, Resa took an immeasurable leap of faith in 2008 and moved to Vancouver to further pursue her musical career.
Identifying with heartache and obstacles, she encourages anyone to believe in themselves and pursue their dreams. Optimism is key for this starlet as she believes in living life to the fullest.
Expected to release her first full length record in 2010, Resa is excited for this coming year.
