Dallas Wesley wrote his first song at 19 while stationed on Guam with the US Coast Guard. At the time, he thought he'd written his first and last song. Little did he know that in the following decade, he would pen over a hundred.
His life has always served as fodder for his songs as he mines the depths of his experiences with love, loss, and faith. The best way to get to know Dallas is to listen to his albums.
At 24, Dallas moved from his hometown of Greenville, South Carolina to Lynchburg, Virginia, where he started to casually pursue his natural musical talent. Playing open mics around the area led those venues to take notice of this unique talent, and soon he was playing shows regularly.
In 2010, Dallas auditioned for the role of Hank Williams in Live Arts' Production of Hank Williams: Lost Highway in Charlottesville, VA. Having never really listened to Hank's music, Dallas completed a 24-hour crash course on YouTube, and came to the audition with a cheat sheet of lyrics to "I'm So Lonesome." His clear, powerful voice filled the room and left everyone speechless. He got the part. The play, and Dallas' portrayal of the country music legend, was a monumental success.
The notoriety and performance enhancement that the play brought added to the fan base Dallas had already began to amass and led to noteworthy performance opportunities, including opening for such national acts as Travis Tritt, Darius Rucker, Trace Adkins, and Blues Traveler.
In 2013, Dallas returned to his roots, both musically and geographically, as he moved back to Greenville, SC and came back to his first love of songwriting and performing his original material. Dallas has two released albums. No Cover is his 2007 debut album, and Glimpse of You followed in 2008. He is currently recording his third album, due for release this summer.

"Dallas Wesley is at home on the stage--charming, believable, and talented."
Andrew Cedarmark - The Charlottesville Daily Progress
"The first time I saw Dallas Wesley, he had a presence that was magnetic...As he started to sing, the room was transformed...The songs that come from his heart are the ticket that will let his dream unfold."
Aer Stephen - WTJU Folk and Beyond Blog
"Wesley’s songs swing from introspective and tender to strong and provocative. His poetic lyrics explore basic struggles: the search for faith, goodness and human connection in a sometimes-alienating world.
