Geno was born Wendell Geneiro Wesley in Mobile, Alabama. At 4 years old Geno performed his first solo during a Christmas Program in church. At the age of 13 he assisted legendary Gospel great the Reverend James Cleveland while the reverend was attending the 1988 Gospel Music Workshop of America in Mobile. At the age of 16 he joined a singing group known as Uneeke which opened up for artists such as Toni Tony Tone, Bell Biv Devoe, and other major artists.After leaving the group Geno formed his own group and was managed by R Kellys' Road Manager Reno Calhoun. Geno later helped form the group Me and My Manz. The group toured with Jaheim and opened up for the Chi-Lites, Cherelle, The Bar-Kays, Lakeside, Doug E. Fresh, Immature, and others. In 1998 Geno joined the Motown band the Tip-Tops as its lead vocalist and performed alongside The Oak Ridge Boys, Harry Connick Sr., and others. In 2000 and 2001 the group Me and My Manz played Bayfest. In 2002 Geno became a solo artist. Geno toured with the gospel play Love Shoulda Brought You Home with Todd Bridges of Different Strokes, Clyde Jones of Coming to America, Chrissy Collins, Andretta Lyles, and Phelda Johnson all of Tyler Perrys' Madea stage plays. Geno has also appeared in TV commercials for Quick Pawn Shop. Geno also writes, produces, and composes. He began recording material in the southern soul genre. He has released songs that are currently playing on radio stations and internet radio stations. He is the former lead singer for the Motown Show Bands the Tip-Tops, Powerhouse, and Starzs of Gulfport, Mississippi. In 2005 Geno was a finalist on Tom Joyner’s Big Break and had the opportunity to open up for the Legendary Charlie Wilson and the Gap Band. In November of 2007 Geno recorded two tracks with the Legendary Blues Artist Mel Waiters in San Antonio, Texas. In 2012 and 2014 Geno performed at the Spring Fling in Mobile. In 2013 Geno performed at the Heritage Festial along with Jeff Floyd,Wendell B,O.B Buchana,and the Shugga Shack Band. In 2015 he performed in the first annual Gulf Coast Music Festival. Geno is remaining in the studio working on new material and he continues to perform with his band at festivals,parties,live shows and live recordings. Geno is truly thankful for what God has allowed him to do. And he is looking forward to sharing it with the rest of the world.
