Shane Cuta has literally spent half of his life in the studio. It was customary to find him hanging around his father’s recording studio with a pen and pad in hand. At age 10 Shane started writing, and a year later he started recording. Shane was called the “Cuta” after free styling for some musicians in a New York studio. The name stuck and it represents the cutting edge with which he delivers his performances.
Shane continued to develop his sound and eventually moved to the Indianapolis, IN where his father’s studio had relocated. He saw the released of his debut album Da Introduction in 2006 which won him the sponsorships of Pelle Pelle & Fila. Songs Bring it Back and All I do, featuring Deprest Hill received air play on Indianapolis’s leading hip hop station Hot96.3 and the video for Bring it Back also got air play on the Indianapolis Music Channel. Shane wrapped up 2006 with performances on BET Sound Stage and at shows threw out the Midwest.
In 2007 he opened for Project Phat of Three 6 Mafia and performed at the Indianapolis Black Expo. Shane Cuta would add to his resume Its’ a Rap, a TV show which he hosted. It featured the likes of NFL’s star Bob Sanders, Mike Epps, Project Phat and 8 Ball & MJZ. Family interest brought It’s a Wrap to an end after 4 episodes. Shane is expected to release his sophomore album in 2010.
