Zé Dos Frangos release their first album, Portugal/Slovakia, May 16, 2009, at an ambitious, trans-Atlantic release party in Austin, Texas. American band members in Austin connect with their European counterparts via satellite. In Austin the party starts at 2pm at the Cherrywood Coffeehouse on 1400 E 38th 1/2 Street and will be broadcast live on the band's website. The double EP, one half from Portugal, the other from Slovakia, incorporates English, Portuguese, and Slovak lyrics and combines several musical genres including Indie Rock and World Music. The album developed from collaborations with European bands AA Tigre, The Loosers, Gala Drop, and Vanilla Club.
“I bought the album because I fell in love with Mysoul.com. I've been listening to the song for the past hour, singing along and then, somehow it's touched my heart and tears came to my eyes... but not sadness, like just when u experience something really beautiful in life and you just react and rejoice in it. This is why good music is important. What a beautiful song you created/helped to create. We need more of this in the world. Just speaking from the heart.”

“Male/female vocals softly intertwine over sparse indie electronics.”
DOUG FREEMAN - Austin Chronicle
“I keep expecting this to be that sappy, overexposed Moldy Peaches track. It’s not. It’s Portuguese. Just that makes it better.”
