If you are looking for your standard "Yuk it up a bit" type comic, Matt Ward is not your guy. If you are looking for someone that balances a message with humor perfectly, then you have come to the right place.
Matt Ward doesn’t set out to offend, but he routinely stumbles into territory his devoted fans fearlessly go with him. He is an every-man and a nobody simultaneously. Matt makes each show unique with his ability to improv and is constantly writing new material. These factors bring the crowds back to see him over and over because they know they will never get the exact same set. Ward was a musician before diving into stand-up and he brings his guitar out to end his sets on occasion with well written catchy songs that keep the crowd laughing.
Ward has shared the stage with Doug Stanhope and Kyle Kinane. His background is in the music industry spending the last 15 years promoting, performing and producing live entertainment. Not often will you book a comic that knows the ins and outs of the comedy business like him.
Ward produced the show where Doug Stanhope recorded "From Across the Street" in 2009 in Wilmington, North Carolina. He also produces an annual charity cancer benefit in Wilmngton called Laughing for Life as well as producing both Port City's Top Comic, The Rocky Top Comedy Contest and The Cape Fear Comedy Festival.
“Since leaving Ohio, Ward has taken his act around the country, opening for the band Chevelle in North Carolina. So far this year his comedy tour, "The Crackers of Comedy," has visited 14 cities in the Southeast and features appearances with HBO's Doug Stanhope and Comedy Central's Kyle Kinane.”

"The amount of happiness I've been able to gain from the freedom of it is immeasurable," he said. "To be able to wake up in the morning and watch foxes run across my yard, while I sit on my back porch and smoke a bowl and talk on my cell phone, you can't defeat that." -Matt Ward
