Hi, my name is Richard Boals. I have to my credit over 45 years experience in the professional music business and my bands have opened for the likes of, Bob Seger, Kenney Rogers and the First Edition, The Lemmon Pipers, The Ohio Express, The Chi-Lites, Dr. Hook, Looking Glass, B.B. King, Rick Derringer, Waylon Jennings, Terri Gibbs, Silvia, Orion, Billy “Crash” Craddock, “Chief” Eddie Clearwater, The Holmes Brothers, The Kinsey Report, Martha Reeves & the Vandellas and Mitch Ryder.
In addition I have played guitar for Dennis Yost of the Classics Four and been the music director and contractor for Johnny Tilholtson and Stars of the Lawrence Welk Show, Myron Floren, Jo Ann Castle and Ralna English. I spent over six years as the music director for Sugar & Spice and the Studebakers, a 50’s stage show and over six years with The Paradise Island Band, a beach party band playing the Lake Erie Resorts of Put-In-Bay and Kelly’s Island, OH. The last nine years I’ve spent with the Paul Clark Band playing the resort clubs of Buckeye Lake, OH. I'm currently performing with A pop band "Inside Out", "Big Al and his Capital City Players", "The Pat Malloy Band" "The Kay Carter Project" and My own band "The Soals".
I spent five years producing my own CD’s on my own label and touring nationally with my own band promoting the sales of those CD’s. My “Access Denied” CD was placed in rotation on Blues shows on over 1200 stations across the U.S. and my CD “That’s The Truth” on the JSP Record label, London, England, was produced by Handy Award Winner Jimmy Morello and received critical acclaim all over Europe and Scandinavia.
My playing has been influenced by James Burton, Steve Cropper, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, B.B. King, Roger McGuinn, Jimmy Hendrix, Wes Montgomery and Carlos Santana.
