Athena’s bluesy fierceness has captivated audiences and propelled her decade long musical career, most strongly in Northern Nevada, especially the greater Carson City and Reno-Tahoe communities and music scenes, but all along the west coast & a cross country tour in 2018.. As a singer-songwriter she has had the pleasure of playing or being featured at a variety of events, outlets and venues including - Hard Rock Casino, Artown, The Knitting Factory, NadaDada, Whiskey Dicks, America Matters Radio, Race for the Cure, the Nevada State Fair, Whiskey A-Go-Go, Peppermill (Edge Nightclub) & The Terrace Lounge and many more!

“The undercard (Athena McIntyre, Mel Wade and Lacey Mattison) performed superb opener sets in support of the headliner Pureka. What was impressive was the vibe in the room and the excellent service by servers Kayla, Shaunessy, bartender Meagan and the manager Rich.
Chris Pureka did an amazing 70-minute set that thrilled and captivated the assembled 75+ guests. The sound reinforcement Shapiro had installed weeks back to control ambient conversational chatter, really helped the room's sonic warmth. The audience could hear every lyric from the high-mountain Americana the artist shared with her rapt attendees.
Food came out fast, even though the place was jam packed beyond capacity.
