Growing up in an environment where playing music was a natural part of everyday life Janus Novak became familiar with soul, rock and world music. After high school he became involved with the electronic music underground when he was asked to play saxophone in the local electronica outfit Badun. Electronic music and the culture surrounding it was so much different from his musical upbringing and Janus threw himself into it wholeheartedly. Today Janus Novak appreciates the different qualities of all the kinds of music he has been in touch with allthough he still has the greatest affection for electronic dance music. Still he can not deny his pop heart and his soul-style of singing, which are also strong elements in his musical expression.
