Cryptik Howling has been formed in 2002 in Rouyn-Noranda, Qc., Canada.
Recorded, mixed & mastered “Vitium Intus” with Yannick St-Amand (Despised Icon, Beneath the Massacre, Martyr) at Northern Studio in 2005, to be released under Cryogenic Records on June 16th 2006.
Recorded & mixed “Them” with Yannick St-Amand at Northern Studio in 2008. Mastered by Pierre Rémillard (Despised Icon, Beneath the Massacre, Ion Dissonance) at Wild Studio & released under Cryogenic Records on October 10th 2009.
Cryptik Howling supported the “And out come the wolves” tour with Wolven Ancestry around Canada in 2009. The same year, they directly supported Blackguard around Canada & opened for The Black Dahlia Murder at the famous Trois-Rivieres Metalfest.
During the years 2010, 2011 & 2012 Cryptik Howling played in more than 15 cities throughout Canada, including Montreal, Quebec city, Toronto & St-John (NB).
Upcoming album recorded with Yannick St-Amand at Northern Studio. Mixed by Jef Fortin (Anonymus) at Badass Studio & Mastered by Jens Bogren (Amon Amarth, Katatonia, Ihsahn, Soilwork) at Fascination Street Studio.
Throughout its existence Cryptik Howling has performed over a hundred gigs & shared the stage with the following:
Despised Icon, Cryptopsy, Rotting Christ, Unexpect, The Black Dahlia Murder, Misery Index, Blackguard, Martyr, Quo Vadis, Neuraxis, Anonymus, Augury, Necronomicon, L’Esprit du Clan, Tagada Jones, Toxic Holocaust, Wolven Ancestry & more.
““Them” is a more direct album in a lot of ways which seems to work well for the band. This album is on the verge of something fresh, a cusp of black metal genius and when a third album is completed I am guessing that Cryptik Howling will become a household name for Black Metal, not only in Canada but abroad as well. Horns Way Up!”
Mark Howitt - Archaic North
“In my opinion Cryptik Howling seems to understand the best elements of symphonic black metal and this sounds more like those bands before they sold out, if you are a fan of early symphonic/melodic black metal you should check this band out.”
OccultBlackMetal - ADifferentShadeOfBlackMetalZine
