Shananigans are much more than just another Canadian Celtic Rock band. They are a musical experience like no other! The group brings to the stage a wide variety of sites and sounds from traditional folk to classic and contemporary rock and pop music. You never know what to expect at a Shananigans show as they always play to the crowd and their talents allow them the freedom to explore the music that best suites the mood. Betcha can't sit still!
With all of the members having Celtic roots it's not hard to understand where they find their inspiration for Irish, Scottish and East Coast music. Their sound follows in the footsteps of the Dubliners, Chieftains, Clancy Brothers, and the Irish Rovers and then proceeds to include more contemporary influences such as Great Big Sea, Spirit of the West, Flogging Molly, Drop Kick Murphys and more... giving the Shananigans the unique ability to be a Celtic Rock/Folk band with music that is enjoyed by everyone from 2 to 92.
Always fun and entertaining Shananigans are a popular choice for festivals, fundraisers, College & University campuses, private parties, corporate events, weddings, pubs and dance halls. Please contact us for more information by clicking this link: shananigans@execulink.com
“I was greatly impressed by the sounds put out by a talented group who call themselves Shananigans. Tawnya’s beautiful expressive voice and amazing technical skills on the flute came through on the many tunes she played in unison with Chris on the button accordion. Watching Chris fill the room with the unique sound of the Irish “Squeezebox” brought back memories of my childhood and being amazed by my father’s ability on the button accordion. Dan’s excellent bass and vocal offerings to this group are vital and reveal a wealth of musical experiences. He is also a skilled guitarist and keyboardist. The group has played many venues including The Stampede Corral in Kitchener, and The Fergus Scottish Festival & Highland Games opening for the Mudmen, the Rogues, and more. The band still performs at various venues and pubs in the Kitchener-Waterloo area and beyond. We dearly hope that Shananigans will return to Brantford in the near future.”

“I could hear the applause from the Beer tent across the field when they were perfoming there. They were a big hit with our festival patrons of all ages.
With their fun, celtic sound, loads of energy and their ability to get the crowd on their feet, the festival plans to have them back again to gear up the crowds and get them into the celtic spirit!
I would highly recommend this group. They were very accommodating with their list of songs and set up as the age difference varied from venue to venue and they easily pleased not only the chairs of the venues but those who stopped to watch and enjoy this group. Many patrons even made a point to get seats early as to not miss their set. A real crowd pleasing band!
