I (Jeff) answered an ad posted by Eric (formally of Left Wing Fascists) on a local band message board here in Norfolk, VA which went something like "Bass player needed for Ramones tribute band." My audition was with Eric and a drummer and we played about 15 Ramones songs on which Eric and I split vocal duties. We kinda hit it off and after about a month of trying to find a "Joey Ramone" singer we said fuck it, this is ridiculous, and started writing our own songs and The Rats was born.
