Pinkie Rideau has been performing in Northern California since 1982, centalizing her efforts in the Sacramento Area. She has always leaned toward blues as a genre, only for its essence and variety. She has a writing style that sets her apart. A whimsical sassyness that everyone can relate to is exactly what she is shooting for. Whether its begging for forgiveness in The River, or laying out a plain request in Booty Call - you always know what she is singing about and will soon be singing along. Pinkie says she can't imagine what is next in life because she has done everything she has always wanted to do already, and things just get better and better!
“Pinkie Rideau has a voice bigger than life,
and she knows how to use it. She seems like she is going to growl
out a tune, but that is not the case. Her voice comes straight from
the soul.”
Rick Snyder - Blues Notes SBS Publication
"Pinkie is a bad ass! Her vocals are sweet, sassy and soulful. My dad would sometimes say 'you gotta go to church to sing like that.' Pinkie has it!"
Big Bill Morganfield - Phone text
“You were wonderful; what a terrific original song you performed with us!”

“Pinkie opens the festival because more and more people are getting here early to see her! She's hometown and real!”
Debbie Burlingame - Bike & Blues in the Foothills
“Wonderful music!!!!!!”
Senator Darrell Steinberg - Cesar Chavez Park, Sacramento
“The following week another blues band hit the stage – Pinkie and Blind Resistance. The name alone piqued my curiosity so i met some friends early and we got a front row seat. We weren’t disappointed. This band plays some wicked blues. I loved their raw and soulful sound. And the harmonica player – wow! Trust me, you’d just have to see and hear this guy to believe it. Words won’t suffice. Pinkie Rideau, their illustrious leader, was as down-home and genuine as they come – and you got it – she loves pink. The band wowed the crowd; people were dancing in the aisles and rocking in their chairs.
”
Belinda Farage - Slice of Sacramento
“Pinky Rideau gave everything she had when she was up on the gazebo stage at Library Park Tuesday afternoon.
And the hundreds of people who spent their time browsing the farm fresh fruit within earshot couldn’t help but enjoy what it was they were hearing.”
Jason Campbell - The Manteca Bulletin
“The hardest workin' woman in show business!”

Jason Ricci - Post Sonora Blues Festival Pro Jam
“The jam session was extraordinarily good this evening with a host of fine Bay Area Musicians showing up. Pinkie Rideau, a vocalist from Modesto, showed her stuff and it was awesome - her voice had nuance and supple phrasing on an original "Miracle".”
Dorothy Hill - The Golden Gate Blues Society Newsletter
“A crowd pleaser!”
Terry Hanck

“2008 International Blues Challenge. The house's favorite was Ron and Pinkie as they played an original set. Pinkie, decked out in a sequin evening gown, demonstrated a refined vocal talent that was both whimsical and ballsy that captured the audience attention and won the day for her.”
John Noxon - Sacramento Blues Society Newsletter
"Leaving aside its usual bass chords, the opening band, Morning Wood Blues, put down guitars & drumsticks for a moment as its wavy haired lead singer, "Pinkie" Varner, let out a softer, plaintive lyric, alone. It was the first verse of "Amazing Grace"."
Howard Yune - The Appeal-Democrat
