Biography:

"And there is truth in what they say, you can never go back home."

These song are a collection of sometimes very lo-fi homemade demos and curios that may or may not appear with more polished production sooner or later.

The Soup Stones make music for themselves mostly and are glad if others enjoy their music as well, although they dont expect it. They operate in a vacuum where its always 1972, they don't care for new music and their favorite Primal Scream record is the one everyone else hates. Mandrake Walker insisted on having his name Motown style before the band because of his enormous ego even though he is a talentless hack. Says Mandrake "To see the looks on peoples faces after shows you can tell people dont like us" indeed. You may wonder, why do they bother? Because they love the music. And once bitten with the bug its impossible to stop.

The Soup Stones take their name from the Grimm fairy tale and it is in the spirit of the story that they make their music. They draw their collective influences from the more country / folk aspect of artists like The Faces, Humble Pie and The Rolling Stones. Says Rev. Sterling "Stealing melodys and progressions from these artists has saved us from coming up with original ideas". Good thing because original ideas are thin on the ground around here.

The Soup Stones have no plans to play live anymore because they find it hard to cope with the lack of pay and the crushing depression failure brings. Instead they intend to keep recording, hoping that one day they will hit on the right formula and someone somewhere will think "thats not too bad".
