Shannon Corey is a piano player/singer songwriter who recently returned from Europe, where she was traveling and performing for a year and a half. Now that she is back in the States, Shannon released a new Holiday Jazz album in 2020 and is continuing to release videos and original covers while navigating our new normal.
She could have been seen on tour with Stephen Stills in summer of 2015 and also in the fall of 2011.
Having been named "Philly's Fan Favourite" at the 2010 Beta Hi-Fi Festival and also a recipient of both the 2010-2011 AND 2011-2012 ASCAPLUS AWARD in the Jazz & Popular Division, Shannon undoubtedly has received the praises of fellow artists and critics alike. She was named Keyboard Magazine's Unsigned Artist of the Month, High Times Magazine's Unsigned Artist of the Week and CD Reviews by You Pop Featured Artist. Her debut album Unsaid was released in 2007 under Mother West Records, NYC, and ensured her an endorsement with Yamaha alongside artists such as Elton John and Michael Bublé. On tour, Shannon has had the opportunity to open for Lady Gaga in NYC, William Tell (of Something Corporate) in NJ, Lenka ("The Show") in Philadelphia, as well as Jon McLaughlin ("Beautiful Disaster") also in Philadelphia. Aside from hearing her on stage, you may have also heard Shannon's music on MTV's The Real World (Cancun, DC, New Orleans & Las Vegas)!
“Assured and nuanced, Shannon's keyboard work speaks of both classical study and a great sensitivity to what any given songs needs rather than how many notes it can hold before exploding” - Keyboard Magazine.
In September of 2009 she released a 5 song EP called Overdue which was reviewed by Tony Deans of The Cheers Music as being “one the most emotional EP's of 2009” and landed her the title ARTIST TO WATCH by RI's Type 3 Media. Shannon has been continuously releasing music since 2007 and in 2013 she released a Best Of album consisting of her 13 most popular tracks including Overdue, The Hug, Done Me Wrong and Headin' Out to Philly.
Aside from being an original artist, Shannon has also been making waves as a vocalist in the commercial world. Shannon has had the pleasure of recording "Let it Go" for Disney Japan and has been the voice on a number of Japanese commercials for companies such as J!ns, KNORR, and Mazda. (https://youtu.be/W3FBEpz-amY) Shannon was also commissioned to co-write and sing "Because I'm a Queen" with Fumitake Igarashi for the Japanese series FIRST CLASS.
