Biography:
Formed in 2008, Silver Machine spent the first three years developing their unique sound, which features the Theremin – an otherworldly electronic instrument from the 1920’s, funky bass and drum grooves, shimmering guitars, synthesizer effects, and filtered vocal harmonies. They recorded their first studio album, and performed at festivals and clubs throughout the southeast both as a headliner and in support of such acts as Boombox, Pnuma Trio, Conspirator, and the Malah. Their self-titled debut was released in 2010, and their first live album was recorded at the Autumnal Equinox of that year during an epic 4-hour set.

In June 2011, Silver Machine performed a “farewell” show at the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC, before retreating into their studio-equipped spaceship to begin work on new material. In May of 2012 they released their sophomore album, “Symmetry,” after a successful crowd funding campaign. They went on to record the first ever original soundtrack to George Romero's "Night of the Living Dead", which was released in October 2012 with the highest picture quality ever mastered to DVD. Silver Machine has already begun work on their next album, which can be described as “something completely different,” and is making preparations to score another film for release in 2013. Press:

"There's much about Symmetry — the spacey jams, the other-worldly vocals shot through effects, the shimmering percussion, burbling synths and ethereal theremin — that all suggest the band really has spent a year free of gravity and earthly confines."
Alli Marshall - Mountain Xpress

"nothing less than pure glitterfunk bliss."

Alli Marshall - Mountain XPress

“It sounds like something out of a science fiction novel...an instrument that you play without ever having to touch it. Those who have seen the Theremin in action know that it's a strange sight to behold — and produces an even stranger sound.”
Allie Goolrich - Bold Life Magazine
