This collective will tightly rock any stage as though they've harnessed all the energy of the earth's core. Three Sheet's contagiously energetic live performances are validated with vivid and honest content both sonically and lyrically. It is because of this reputation that Three Sheet has been so successfully stirring up the East Coast music scene since 2009. In 2010 Three Sheet received 'New Nova Scotia Artist of the Year' and 'Hip Hop Recording of the Year' honours at NSMW, and were ECMA nominees for 'Hip Hop Recording of the Year'. In 2011 the band was voted "Halifax's Best Band' in The Coast's readers poll and they took home awards for 'Entertainer of the Year' and 'Digital Artist of the Year' (NSMW '11) as well as a nomination for 'Recording of the Year'. Their fourteen song album "Sheet Music" was released in 2011 and recorded largely live off the floor in Halifax's coveted recording studio, The Sonic Temple. The second track on "Sheet Music", called "Stamina", was selected for a Much Music VideoFACT grant and shot entirely on an iPhone 4 by director Aram Kouyoumdjian. "Stamina" received a nomination for "Video of the Year" while the album received a nomination for "Hip Hop Recording of the Year" at the 2012 ECMA's.
As tour veterans of Central and Eastern Canada, 2012 took them overseas to Taiwan as a part of the highly successful 'Hello Taiwan!' tour with The Chairman (TAI), Kou Chou Ching (TAI), and The Hsu-Nami (USA). Three Sheet was subsequently invited to play 'Passport to Taiwan' Fest in New York City's own Union Square on Manhattan Island as a result of the great success they had on the 'Hello Taiwan!' tour.
During the last 3 years Three Sheet have spent less time touring while meticulously crafting, modifying and evolving their sound in the studio having spent more time writing, recording, and producing songs. They have reached new heights sonically in their music by adding keys, samplers and a new DJ, "Uncle Fester", spinning the wax while still maintaining a rich, organic sound that stays true to their origins. The sextet is now poised to jump back into the ring Mike Tyson style with their long awaited, highly anticipated 3rd album "Heart to Make it Perfect".
“Vanessa Furlong, Matt “Expedyte” Kliffer, Eric “EMC” McIntyre, Kevin Tilley, Ryan O’Quinn and Shaun “Uncle Fester” Ryan took the stage and proceeded to unleash a fiery set of tunes which got the crowd moving. The previously sparse crowd down in front was now filling up rapidly as people took notice of what was transpiring on stage. From EMC’s beat-boxing magic to Furlong’s soulful, hook-laden vocals, to Expedyte’s silver tongued flow, the band was as tight as they were musical. I can’t wait to hear more from this band, as they won over a whole legion of fans from this performance.”

"I cannot front on the creativity and passion the quintet display on Sheet Music, and they pull off most of the songs with aplomb. Songs like “You”, “Norm Now”, “Stand Still” and “For What It’s Worth” show what the group can do when they hit their stride, with the two guitarists laying down the backbone and the three vocalists weaving in and out and working off of each other with ease. If you’re a hip hop enthusiast, you have to feel good when you see a group like this take the medium in a new direction, but still keep it true to the essence. I’ll be interested to see what direction Three Sheet takes their sound next." ~ Herohill, July 2011 ('Sheet Music' Album Review)

"In an era of lip-synching, recycled samples and Auto-Tune'd T-Pain-style rappers, Haligonian hip-hop quintet Three Sheet are more than a breath of fresh air - they're a blast of gale-force wind." -- Paige Aarhus, HERE NB

““Three Sheet’s songs are infectious, energetic and downright awesome. They are a band poised to make a big splash on the national scene, with a genre bending hip hop hybrid that has risen to top of the heap as one of Halifax’s best and most popular bands… every member is fully equipped with mind boggling skill and an affable charisma. I think ‘excellent’ is too feeble a word to describe what I witnessed when I went to check the band out, the live show is phenomenal.” -- Isaac Thompson, Noisography
