Biography:

Dj Psytoon, Rodrigo Rodrigues, comes from Terceira Island in the Azores archipelago, where he was born in 1980. In 2008 graduated in Sound Engineering at the SAE Institute of Amsterdam. Now living back in the Azores Islands, the Dj works as a sound engineer at his studio, Soundivision, and also produces parties throughout the islands.

In Lisbon, where he lived for 7 years, Psytoon majored in music production at the School of Creativity and Technology (Escola de Criatividade e Tecnologia-Restart) between the years of 2003 and 2005.Also there, he engaged in the Psychedelic Trance scene by attending a number of festivals and parties. By doing so, he found himself connected to the energy of this style of music, and decided to explore it by producing and mixing it.

In 2002, the Dj starts discovering the Psy Trance by mixing tracks among friends, and from that an astonishing career flourished. Psytoon played in festivals and parties from north to south of continental Portugal, as well as in the Azores (such as Virus 2003; Green Trippin’ Camp 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009; Azure Festival 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010,2011,2012).

In 2005, the Dj joins Fractal Species (Azorian label known for organizing such festivals as the Green Trippin’ Camp), and Synergic Minds (national party producing label) in 2006. These labels opened the doors to bigger events, and since then Psytoon has played in festivals in Holland, Austria, Belgium, and Spain (Barcelona) where he shared the stage with names like Delirious, Painkiller, Mekkanikka, Lost & Found, Bio Genesis, Vibe Tribe, Neuromotor, Penta, Technodrome, Black & White, CPU, Menog, Madnetic, Bitkit, Kindzadza, Silicon Sound, Khopat, Tryambaka, Sick Addiction, Snikers, Organixx, Spectra, D-Maniac, Cosmic Station, Echotek, etc...

His sound varies from Full On Night and Morning, with heavy basslines traveling through melodies that take you to another level, carrying the dance floor to a symphony with the positive energies spread by his music.
