Biography:

BLIVET! was formed in Wilmington NC in August of 2008 in an attempt to satisfy the eclectic musical tastes of four friends who happen to also be musicians. The band was not conceived to fit into any category. The idea was to simply find great SONGS to play - regardless of who wrote them or what "genre" they came from.

The result is a band that can truly bring you the sweet sounds of classic country by Waylon Jennings or Buck Owens or Conway Twitty and moments later deliver Marvin Gaye or Sheryl Crow or U2 or Led Zeppelin. Acoustic or electric, loud or subdued, the band takes pride in being able to truly provide an unusual mix that never gets boring.

By utilizing acoustic and electric instruments, as well as male and female lead vocals, the band crafts an evening of peaks and valleys that go from thoughtful, quiet songs like Elvis Costello's Alison or John Mayer's Gravity to scorching rockers like Renegade from Styx or You Oughta Know by Alanis Morissette.

The centerpiece to all of this is the vocals of Robert Beauchene, Polly Beauchene, Dave Hervey and Bert Linton. Their love of all of this music truly comes out in their performances.

And that goes for all aspects of the band. The songs that BLIVET! plays were chosen because the BAND loves them - not because they thought the audience would love them (no offense)! The theory is: if the band is having a great time and loving what they're playing, the performance will be great, they'll have FUN and it will all be contagious!!

So far, the band's hard work has resulted in a set list of over 140 songs. This also keeps them from getting "stale." BLIVET! doesn't suffer from the problem that many cover bands do - namely, lack of variety from night to night. IT'S ALWAYS DIFFERENT!!

So come on out and see it all - but come early and stay late so you can truly see the FULL spectrum of what they've created!
