About
Padma is a singer-songwriter, currently recording his second album in Vancouver, Canada. His gentle, lulling guitar technique is often embellished with the subtle use of percussion, vintage effects and analog synthesizers, creating a timeless and other-worldly acoustic-based sound. His lyrics are intelligent, honest and refreshingly un-clichéd.
Padma’s first EP ‘Untitled’ was released on Buddhalicious in 2005.
In 2006 his song ‘Thow My Drugs Away’ was included in the Love Music, Hate Racism fundraiser album.
In 2007 'Song for an Entryphone' featured in the award-winning film 'Bigboy_74', which was shown on MTV2.
‘Here’, Padma’s debut album, produced by Holy McGrail (synth and fx for Slomo, Julian Cope and Sunn 0))) ), is out now on Just Music.
Just Music was founded in 2001 by former China Records (Morcheeba, Art of Noise, Levellers) MD John Benedict and his partner, Serena. It is a fiercely independent music label offering the very best in cutting-edge electronica, acoustic, ambient, down-tempo laid back grooves and chill. Their ethos is making great music with integrity.
