Bio
Once upon a time she was a war correspondent, a wild dolphin swimmer, an organic farmhand, a teacher...
Now, rooted in the earthy and the ethereal, an alchemist of song, Oona’s evocative Celtic harp and piano entwine with her pure voice to evoke a primal beauty.
Sweet and soulful, her new album Honey and Holy Water flows with urgency and wonder. The honey bees are disappearing. The oceans are in peril. It’s been 40 years since Woodstock (the only cover tune on the disc). Will we make it "back to the garden" before the jig is up? From the fun and funky re-creation of the trad tune Drowsy Maggie to the heartfelt plea for preservation of The Wild Ones, this album reminds us of what is lost and what yet might be saved.

Fast forward 40 years to an age of tarnished idealism and ecological crisis and the need to get “back to the garden” is more pressing than ever, which is why singer songwriter Oona McOuat has covered Joni Mitchell’s
Same nationality, same pure voice, same golden hair, but on this upbeat version of the song, the piano is replaced by a Celtic harp and Oona is joined by rootsy Zimbabwean singer James Mujuru, affirming the cross cultural stream that irrigates the shrinking Eden we now share.
Soothing, grooving, eco-Celt, organic and emotive, Honey and Holy Water flows with urgency and wonder. The honey bees are disappearing. The oceans are in peril. Will we make it back to the garden before the jig is up?
From the fun and funky re-creation of the trad tune Drowsy Maggie to The Wild Ones’ heartfelt plea for preservation, through the broken-open love song, Where the Emptiness is Full, this album navigates mystery and loss with purity and grace while encouraging us to cherish what might yet be saved.
The breadth of Corbin's contributions to a festival like ours is what makes him such an outstanding and entertaining performer at any event; within one performance you can expect to be in awe of his technical mastery and innovative techniques with his cello, you can listen to intimate and deeply moving pieces of music with profound personal and spiritual bent one moment only to burst out in barely containable fits of laughter the next as he goes off on some spontaneous humorous riff; and when it comes to riffs, you will see very few performers who can improvise the way Corbin does.
Without doubt some of the finest moments for many at our festival occurred during the completely improvised jam session that Corbin was involved in ....."
