This is a 100% alcohol/drug-free, fun, family friendly music and arts event. The purpose of sobriety on this day is to be fully present in our natural state, celebrating our humanness by acknowledging our imperfections and embracing each other in honesty and love. We cannot live in a Hippie Paradox of perpetual plastic positivity, where everything is happy all the time and the mere mention of anything to the contrary is perceived as negative. Life is never perfect, and that's perfectly fine. Our close-knit community is also imperfect, and we need to collectively accept that. We can't expect to be immune from the ills which plague humanity; whether these afflictions manifest in subtle exploitation, rampant intoxication or violence. It is our responsibility to help our community, as well as heal ourselves. To understand the significance and intention of this event, please read this blog from our music brother and concerned friend, Chris Sqammato “Sober Reflection” https://www.facebook.com/notes/chris-sgammato/sober-reflection-an-open-letter-to-the-tampa-jam-family/10151824008631619 Let's celebrate our higher conscience together with the clarity that can only be afforded through sobriety. All are welcome. Don't just talk about love. Come BE love at Sober Reflections. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Featuring performances by Displace, Serotonic, Future Vintage Band, Rev. Funky D/ De Quesenberry, Troy Youngblood, Legacy, and many more TBA. $7 at the door helps us put the "unity" in "community". 100% of the cover will benefit CASA St. Petersburg (Community Action Stops Abuse).
