Q: Of Former Fame , How do you write? Do you write lyrics first and find a beat, or do you find the beat first and then create lyrics? Would you be interested in doing a short interview?
A: Most of the time the rhythm guitar riff was created first, then drums and bass figured out. Next we found a melody for vocals and when that was in place, we filled in lyrics. Often times the creation of the melody sparked a particular word or phrase that snowballed into the rest of the sentence. That would then feed the theme for the whole set of lyrics. The band is no longer together, so an interview probably isn't your best use of time, but we would consider one.
