Too young for moments, but we're ready to experience some...! How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry? It definitely allows us to reach & define the audience that an artist seeks while chillin' at the crib... Shaweet...um! Would you sign a record contract with a major label? It would be an honor... Band History: Well, we came together in July of 2006, won a record label contest in Midland, MI in Aug of 2006 and opened for Universal Recording Artist "Ashes of Soma" @ The Machine Shop in Flint, MI in March of 2007. “If there ever was a poll for "TIGHTEST BAND IN DETROIT" NUROKSOL has it on lock! - Kent Alexander for METROTIMES NUROKSOL Whoever said, "You can't be fit as a fiddle if you're tight as a drum" had it all wrong. In fact, if there's ever a poll for "tightest band in Detroit" NuRokSol has it locked. When this quintet gets into its alternative metal groove, few bands around town can match it. And with a near virtuoso guitarist and drummer, they never cease to entertain. Outdoor stage, 4 p.m. Exert taken from 09/14/2011 ROK YOU UP "Cosmic Slop kicks out the black rock jams in Ann Arbor" By Kent Alexander for Metrotimes Magazine.”
““Open Up You’re mine!” Story by: Jeffrey Swerdan for "Happeningz Entertainment". The first time you say the phrase, it sounds like you are saying open up your mind, which is good advice? Anytime that you hear a new song, it’s good to open up your mind and just listen. Take the band NuRokSol for example. If you listen to the first song on their debut CD: “Colours in the Sky” you immediately get a taste of what NuRockSol is all about. Be careful though, because by the time you get to the last track, the NuRockSol motto begins to ring true. Open up You’re Mine! NuRokSol makes music that will touch your inner spirit. As soon as you open up your soul to their music, you’ve just become addicted to NuRokSol. It was a few years ago when Marlow Morgan met up with Anthony Larkin. Both Anthony and Marlow had been trying to find some way to give their music meaning. Anthony and Marlow immediately bonded and they both knew that working together would help take them to the next level”
“On tracks like “State of Mine”, “I Know Ya”, and the title track “Colours in The Sky”, the band gives smart lyrics with keeping their own blend of social commentary with humor. They have achieved a unique fusion of Rock, R&B, and Urban. Although Nuroksol’s music is influenced by bands like Living Colour and Orange Sky, I would definitely say Nuroksol has a sound all of their own. Colours in the Sky is a “must have” and I highly recommend it for your library.”
