“Nonini and Lady Bee
Another of Nonini’s protÈgÈs is relative and Mrembo singer Lady Bee. When she decided to come back to Kenya in 2007 after a stint in Dubai, Nonini practically took he under his wing and flew with her. Says she: "If you leave the industry for a few months, let alone years, you find a totally different scene".
I wanted to re-establish myself as a musician. It was hard. Gladly, I hooked up with Nonini who was doing well then, to help me re-launch my career here. I gave him my album and he liked it; we then decided to work together." The two have collaborated on a number of songs like Kumbuka, Kila Mmoja and Genge Love. "Nonz believed in me and pushed me, and I’m forever grateful to him," added the musician who won the Teeniez Brand New Artiste award last year.”
