Nocturno started some years ago with Laura Fusano (Captain Nocturno) and Simon Roots. As all bands, Nocturno went through radical changes, till Susie Elliott (the Lieutenant) joined the band making her mark through atmospheric sounds of her keyboard and more importantly her lyrical, angel-like vocals. NOCTURNO is a South-based indie band, formed by a melange of backgrounds.
On Wednesday 27th March, at the KOMEDIA, NOCTURNO embarked on an extreme journey to beat half a dozen Brighton-based bands. They not only came first, with more votes than any other band throughout the course of the 3-day semifinals, but they also proved they believe in their message of bringing people together through music.
Their fans, British, Polish, Italians, Japanese, New Zealanders, South Africans, Brazilians & Portuguese came all the way from Southampton, London & Portsmouth travelling together to support the band, proving that music can really be the bonding factor between the huge variety of cultures & religions.
