“The opening track is probably my favorite. "Tonight" really delivers a statement straight away. If you've never heard this band before this song is an effective attention grabber, with it's heavy, slow guitar riff that just chugs along and the big vocals of Stefania. She has a mid-range to high voice that is quite impressive. Impressive too are the melodic harmonies that are employed here. As I said this is probably my favorite song, it sets a definite high standard right off-the-bat. Next is the 7-minute "Alice". It begins with a psychedelic type riff, that is reminiscent of something from the early 70's, but then the song gets really grooving and Stefania delivers another huge vocal performance. She employs several different ranges here....”

“I parmensi Noctiluca sono una band originale per almeno due motivi. 1) Non è facile trovare una formazione a sei elementi di cui quattro sono donne e due uomini. 2) Il tipo di musica proposta, per lo meno per i miei canoni di ascolto, risulta non omologabile in toto con nessuna delle bands in circolazione nell’ambito del metal dark melodico, così come viene indicata la musica dei Noctiluca nella biografia; e ciò è sicuramente un bene.....”

“You cannot beat a little bit of gothic doom metal to brighten up one's September afternoon here in the UK, and here we have the debut offering from the Italian band (from Parma) Noctiluca. Fronted by the clean and powerful voice of Stefania, So with all those lovely ladies, it's right up Ravenheart Music's alleyway. I must say that this is not a bad offering that does at times remind me a little of early Gathering. Kicking off with 'Tonight', the doomy nature of the music becomes apparent, plus the rather powerful voice of Stefania, which really makes it for me. Second track, 'Alice' is a little more uptempo, and one of my favourite tracks too. Again the vocals impress me big time. The album continues in a similar vein to the opener - other faves on this little slab of plastic .I must stress that this record is like a baby shark - it is a grower, it will not grab you right away, but once it does, it will be reluctant to let go! Excellent musicanship - 8/10”

“I Noctiluca sono una band emiliana che di maschile ha solo la sezione ritmica, e ci propongono con il loro primo album Back to the Soul System nove composizioni lunghe e involute, inquadrabili nel genere del gothic metal (termine ormai stra-abusato e che sta sempre più diventando sinonimo di poca inventiva, anche se fortunatamente non è questo il caso del gruppo in questione). Una cosa che i Noctiluca sanno fare a meraviglia è evocare atmosfere oscure e sottilmente minacciose, a tratti oniriche: il doom di From Beyond o la sinuosa Simplicity potrebbero essere una perfetta colonna sonora per un horror movie gotico, decadente e delicatamente morboso. Non mancano comunque brani dal carattere più forte, come la marziale Escaped. Altro punto di forza è la vocalità della cantante Stefania, ricca di sfaccettature, sicura di sé, realmente capace di "interpretare" i suoi testi. ”

CIRCOLO ONIRICA 17 Settembre 2011 DARK LUNACY - Come Back Home + Noctiluca + Pursuing The End DARK LUNACY Tra le migliore band del panorama Metal nazionale (e non solo) figurano i Dark Lunacy, che forti di una line-up rinnovata (entra Andy dei Sadist e membri di Infernal Poetry) e con l’uscita del nuovo album “Weaver of Forgotten”, sono ritornati sulle vette con prepotenza. Il genere "Dramatic Death Metal" sta ad indicare che la band ha varie influenze, ma che le loro composizioni sono tutte orientate verso atmosfere gotiche e decadenti. Il tutto è enfatizzato dal fatto che i Dark Lunacy si avvalgono del supporto di un quartetto d'archi presente pressoché in ogni canzone. Concerto da definirsi storico perché finalmente tornano a Parma e finalmente sul palco dell’Onirica!
