“Shake hands with Nikki Lunden and you might notice besides her bright blue eyes and contagious smile, the generous set of tatoos inked up and down her arm. One tatoo in particular - around her right bicep - is a riff from Sheryl Crow's "Ordinary Morning." That song, she said, is why she is a musician. "When I was 15, I discovered Sheryl Crow," the 33 year old Ft. Madison native said. "... I was listening to the song in my car and had to pull over to listen to it. "It brought tears to my eyes. At that point I realized I wanted to be a musician." Lunden is a solo singer/songwriter and guitarist and the frontwoman for The Trollies and Nikki Lunden and The Paper Hearts. She's been on the Iowa City Music circuit since 2000, when she moved here and started her own band. Like many musicians, Lunden's career has been riddled with change - but its a fight she won't soon give up. "I'm use to the struggle.
