As Julie said this year, “we are commanded to be in relationship with the poor, as opposed to pitying them.” Of particular interest: toys for boys! Questions? Ask firstname.lastname@example.org Sked: 6:30 pm--oil hits multiple pans 6:45 pm—first latkes emerge from fat 7:00 pm--firepit lighting, brief-but-intense blessings over food and wine 7:30 pm—MUSIC! Out of respect to our neighbors, amplified music will end at 9 PM. What else? —parking is limited. Arrive in time to find a spot, or ride a bike, or walk. --Appropriate for kids? Definitely, as long as families supervise each other. There’s a playground across the street if steam needs blowing off. —It may be cold, and this is outdoors. Wear warm stuff. —Bring something to sit on if that’s how you roll. A blanket or folding chair. —We’ll provide wine and grape juice for the kiddush. Otherwise, BYOB. ---So, there’s just LATKES etc. to eat? Is that IT? Yep. Unless someone brings donuts. ---Is this just for Jews? Certainly not. The Firepit Minyan welcomes members from all wandering tribes. ---Would a non-Jew feel awkward? Nope! Why is this happening? Because Michelle Alany played for us on Yom Kippur and no one wanted her to stop. YES, WE WOULD LOVE VOLUNTEERS! WAITRESSES, CUSTODIANS, CHEFS. Hit reply for a volunteer assignment.
