Music and exhibition launch "It's not easy being green"
Following her successful albums Red Dirt Road (2006) and Stitches (2009), Naomi Sunderland presents her new "Water" EP. "Water" is a seductive blend of folk and ambient electronica that gives Naomi's characteristic storytelling a compellingly beautiful and contemporary flavour. The launch will feature "Water" artwork by Heidi Muenchberger and special guest performances from Rose Carrousel and Leah Tharlai. Joined by a band of musicians including Phil Graham, Aled Humphrys, and Macushla Peek, Naomi presents a new take on "ambient folk". $15 cover charge includes music performances, exhibition opening for the "Barely There" Exhibition, and a complimentary drink and canapés on arrival. Tickets available at the door. "Water" CDs and a limited number of "Water" artwork prints by Heidi Muenchberger will be available for sale on the night. ** Proceeds from the bar on the night will be donated to the Queensland Conservatorium for its 2013 student trip to volunteer at the Desert Harmony Festival in Tennant Creek.** The venue advises that there will be images of nudity displayed at the Barely There exhibition. Parental guidance is advised for children under 12.
