Some would say it was random chance that brought together six musicians from all parts of the country. Some would say it's fate. Whether it was fate, coincidence or mountain magic that brought them together, fans are thankful that they connected and formed Mountain Standard Time.
--------------------
In the fall of 2007 Phillip Dyer (mandolin/guitar) met Adam Pause (banjo) pickin’ around a campfire and they felt an immediate musical kinship. Early in 2008 they got together, through mutual friends, with Stanton Sutton (guitar/mandolin) and Jeff “Curly” Shroeder (electric bass). The stars aligned and Mountain Standard Time formed almost immediately. Shortly thereafter they met Bevin Foley (fiddle) and it became evident to all those who witnessed their first few performances that Mountain Standard Time was destined to be more than just your average Colorado bluegrass band. The most recent addition to the line-up is the percussive talent of Nathaniel Haas. Armed only with a snare drum Nathaniel gives yet another twist to the MST's already new and original sound. Since those original few shows Mountain Standard Time has continued to live up to that initial prediction of success by gaining rapid popularity and playing live shows, almost non-stop, up and down the Front Range ever since.
--------------------
Mention the phrase 'mountain standard time' and most likely people will immediately think of the time zone that covers the mid-western part of the United States. Ask anyone in the Front Range of Colorado and you'll elicit a much different response. Since their chance meeting early in 2008, Mountain Standard Time has been imprinting their brand of “bluegrass” on the minds of their enthusiastic audiences. They call their music 'non-linear aquatic gypsy-grass', but it seems most people don't care to dabble in symantics, they just want to keep on dancing!
