David Hope: 'Scarecrow' album launch. 'Scarecrow' is the title of Clare singer / songwriter, David Hope's new and second full studio album. It is the much anticipated follow up to his first studio album 'A Picture' (2007) which saw Hope become a fixture on Ireland's music circuit. The subsequent critical success of Hope's two interim E.P.s 'Daybreak Someplace' (2009) and 'Hell or High Water' (2011), both received great airplay locally, nationally and internationally and led to Hope performing at numerous festivals both at home and abroad. 'Scarecrow' was in part recorded and produced by world renowned musician and producer, Declan Sinnott, in 2012 at his studio in West Cork. Declan has been responsible for some of the finest acoustic / folk recordings over the last number of decades - guiding the likes of Christy Moore, Mary Black, Sinead Lohan & John Spillane in the studio. 'Scarecrow' was also part recorded in Limerick at The Bishops Palace which has garnered a reputation in recent years for its pedigree for producing more rock / indie rock type recordings with Noel Hogan (The Cranberries), Windings, Senakah and many others. This contrasting mix recording spaces is very well represented on the new album, which showcases some of Hope's harder edged and grittier sounds, mixed with some of his most heartfelt and thought proving acoustic recordings to date. Hope has been touring in Ireland for the best part of a decade now, but has in more recent times been finding success a little further afield touring regularly in Germany and Switzerland, where the album was released in November 2012 and has been very well received with good airplay across the country. David will be performing some live shows across Ireland in February 2013 (details below) before returning to tour Germany and Switzerland in March 2013. Hope is planning a further Irish tour in April to support the release of 'Scarecrow'. http://davidhope.ie/ http://facebook.com/davidhopeofficial
