"Nothing can grow and survive without an influx of new energy. There aren't many wise old folks left to tell the stories of our past generations, of legends that became the very core of our lives. This needs to be done with our music -with our Blues- AND if we are stuck at the Crossroads, all we will find is that same old, hungry devil, who is killing off all of our natural resources and destroying our precious wildlife . Blues IS a natural resource - and what it needs to stay alive is to keep on growing. It needs energy, passion, innovation and love . It needs a commitment to not imitate, but to initiate and to
take it to new levels.
Leave the roots and water the plant so that it can grow new branches."

“I was nursing a beer at the bar waiting for Monica Dupont and her band to start their first set. How can a woman'sing like Muddy Waters' and look like Mary Tyler Moore”? That’s what I wanted to find out. I had to see and to hear her in person and that’s what dragged me down to the club. I’ve always had a soft spot for weird combinations. When she sang, her voice was deep, but nothing like I'd expected. There is no husk or rough edge in Monica's voice. It is as smooth & sweet as pumpkin pie, with whipped cream and a tall glass of buttermilk. When she reached for a high note the sounds sent chills down my spine ! She has a unique style - totally original, even when doing someone else’s song. She isn’t a Blues Lady in the mold of the famous ones - doesn’t play the same kind of songs, doesn’t carry herself like them, she doesn’t speak of the black woman’s experience, yet, Monica Dupont , is just as much an authentic part of the Blues as any of the Great Ladies ”

"When you hear the voice of Monica Dupont,it
makes you think of the deep, dark blues voice
of someone like Howlin' Wolf, but not a female
blues voice. This is a really great thing. Monica
plays guitar & with her low, soulful, experienced
voice she brings deepness & feeling into all of
her songs."ROOTSTIME"MARCIE/Alan Gijssels,2008

In 1969, I met a gorgeous girl named Monica Dupont, and I mean a GORGEOUS 6 foot tall young woman that immediately caught MY
attention !!
LOL !! I was in the Buddy Miles Express( B3 player) and hanging with Buddy at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco. Now, 3-4 years ago I get an e-mail from Monica and of course was floored by her talent - didn't even know she was a musician !! I BEGGED her-yes begged her to join MySpace and after a while SHE FINALLY joined. The rest is history with awards and the TRUE recognition she deserves. Also, her faithful companion and GREAT musician Gary Novak involved with her music-plays any instrument and produces !!! God Bless you Monica and thanks for listening to this !! A RARE talent indeed. LOVE YOU GIRL -
da Hitch !!
P.S. IT would be an HONOR to play for you on a recording !!

Monica's first new recording in over 25 years"Life Goes On" is a remarkable collection of pure blues; something old, something new,all a little bit different, each one uniquely Monica Dupont. Her ability to leap effortlessly from shuffle to boogie to pure Delta to swing and yet remain completely authentic and original is a rare and wonderful talent.
Supported by an A-list of fabulous musicians(all of whom are connected to her from the "old days" of Oakland Blues)this album makes a statement that cannot be ignored.Like a great book that one can't put down,it draws you in and holds your attention. Each song is a new style; each style is a new sound. Her voice,a voice like no other you've heard, ties it all together.Once you've heard her,you can instantly identify her forever.Make no mistake-this is NOT "more of the same old blues".This is the REAL deal for people who know and love the REA
