“Anyone who was there on Tuesday night could not fail to be affected by Midwezt unless they had musical hearts of stone and needed to get out more often. There was a little magic in the air that evening. I felt it after the first song. Something changed - what I call a change of speed. People relaxed and some danced, heck even a photographer was dancing when he wasn't taking pictures of everyone. The songs ranged from near ballad to almost rock but all with a C & W flavour. Charlene the lead vocalist knew how to get the best out of the audience and gave her best with warmth that was not stuck up, false or showbizzy. Not many singers can do that. Needless to say this won't be my first Midwezt gig. Neither will it be my first review and next time I'll mention by name all the other members of this excellent band who meshed together so well to form a tigth but at the same time relaxed sound.”

My favourite is 'Understanding' which is really catchy and captures Charlie Armitage at her best with vocals. This young lady just gets inside your head but hey it's such a pleasure to hear her voice. Musically the band really turn on it and compliment Charlie's voice. 'Closer' isn't too far behind and certainly would be a great compliment with 'Understanding You' if they ever released it as a single. “MIDWEZT - It Aint Just Country Live EP: I haven't heard any new music from this alternative country band in a while so this was a much welcome release. I think the lack of drums take something away from this six track release but aside from that you can't complain about the quality of musicianship on here. For a live recording the band have got it spot on with some wicked vocals from Charlie Armitage. Mick Davison and Mirko Muneratti work well together as guitarists and they play some right good chords on this release. Bassist Eddie Duff delivers some great bass work throughout this sessions too! Midwezt break the rules with their country sound but when they're delivering good songs such as 'Why Should I Worry', 'Through You' and 'Beggin For Kindness' who cares? Certainly a band worth tracking down if you're after something a little different. 7.5/10 ”

Private Show: Tiger Lilly heads to AAA to celebrate the launch of her single, “Letting Go” Tiger Lilly will be performing her brand new single 'Letting Go' written by Mirella Castellano and produced by Rob Persaud of Roxstone Music LA at an exclusive industry launch party on Tuesday 30th August with special guest performances from Lewis Clay, Gianluca De Martini and Midwezt and a host of celebrity guests and press in attendance. This is the first of the collaboration between the artist and the US based companywww.roxstonemusic.com who have also worked with platinum selling artist Josh Groban and on US Blockbuster movies such as ‘Salt’, ‘Nanny Mcphee’ and ‘Love and other drugs’ starring Jake Gyllenhaaland Anne Hathaway to name but a few. The collaboration is hoping to see the new single ‘Letting Go’ follow in the same footsteps as Roxstones previous success and have the British artist achieve her first movie syndication with the single. Charleen Armitage a prolific songwriter with strong emotional vocals also manager of midwezt .,Rex Gates on bass [Rex has played with Jerry Lee Lewis/Chuck Berry/Brenda Lee and was once a member of the checkmates ,we use to be country rock but we're probably more country pop. Charleen and mick formed midwezt originally as a due in 2005 and after a year playing various venues and building up there fan base decided to add lead guitar and bass guitar and saw them record and release there first 6 track EP (BEGGIN FOR KINDNESS) 2 tracks of the EP (WHERE WILL I BE and TEN TO ONE) was regularly played on radio stations in UK and U.S.A and with this gained them a place in the I.P.O (international pop overthrow) which is an american music organisation which also aloud them to showcase there music at the cavern liverpool . 2008 saw midwezt record there 2nd 6 track EP but this time a live recording,A successful launch was held with t,shirts badges ect and there fan base became stronger.
