Wells Holiday Music Fest December 22nd, 2013 4PM-8PM 4 hours of music and peaceful fun.Tickets $10 per person. Refreshments will be served. Alan Short – Emcee & Acapella Sea Shanties, and other delights.Michael Wells – Songwriter/performer (me) Walt Sargent – A wonderful singer/songwriter and the Head of the Island Songwriters Showcase Jeanni Hall and Sam Hatcher – Singer & uke player and Sam is a Bass Player (Jeanni will also perform duets with Michael) Edward Lowell – I played with ED at a few Second Life Jams and several times per week online, dual streaming into second life. He understands my music and adds wonderful mandolin, flute, and vocal harmonies. He is also an accomplished songwriter in his own right, and we maybe can persuade him to do a few of those! Marialaina – Marialiana came to our first showcase, and I was very impressed with her soulful voice and her songwriting skills. I am happy to have her in the lineup! Bernard Lee - Sax/clarinet/flugel horn vocalist with a wonderful Louis Armstrong like gravel to his voice. Bernard is a wonderful songwriter also! Mel Silva & Derek Wells – Mel is a young songwriter. I heard him do a couple of songs at a coffee house, and it fits nicely with my idea of mixing young and old for a wonderful night of music and peace! And my son, Derek will accompany him on guitar! If ticket sales go well for this event, more will follow, with more SUPER special guests in mind! :-) The Conklin Barn has heat in winter and A/C in the summer, wheelchair accessible bathrooms, Good Acoustics, and can hold 50 people comfortably. "Random Kisses" - Song by Michael Wells, chosen for use in the end credits of new documentary "Cut, Poison, Burn" The Film tells the grim tale of the half century War on Cancer and focuses on the character of Thomas Navarro. In 1999, the four year old boy was diagnosed with brain cancer and thrust into the system of Surgery, Chemo and Radiation and not allowed to be treated with a proven method by Texas Doctor Stanislaw Burzynski. The war between the Navarro Family and the FDA is perhaps this country's greatest evidence as to why there should be medical freedom and how since the War on Cancer began in 1971, the war is still failing in 2009.
