    Details

After presenting the "Whose Box Is this Anyway" workshop, we will pause for light refreshments. Then Michael Dimin will treat us to a concert of his solo bass works. "Mike's taken his revolutionary approach, unparalleled technique and mastery of the instrument and combined it with a sense of musicianship and lyricism that transcends the site of a solo bassist on stage. "Michael Dimin is an author, educator and, yes, solo bassist. He has performed from Istanbul to L.A. A featured TEDx performer, Mike literally "wrote the book" on solo bass, through his ground breaking work, "The Art of Solo Bass" and as columnist for Bass Sessions, Bass Guitar Magazine (UK), Bassics Magazine, Bass Frontiers Magazines and Bass Player Magazine. Mike has taught clinics and master classes at Gerald Veasley's Bass Boot Camp, The Bass Collective, the National Summer Guitar Workshop, The Detroit Bass Fest and many more. Mike is a clinician for Zon Guitars, EA Amps, Boomerang Music and Thomastick Infeld Strings. A $5 donation is recommended. 5 PM, Forte Music Studios, 1691 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Fredericksburg, VA 22401.
