Press Release: MUSICAL TALENT MATT KABUS TO PERFORM AT THE DELTA AIR LINES DOUBLE PLAY BENEFIT BASH FOR RALLY FOUNDATION FOR CHILDHOOD CANCER RESEARCH ATLANTA, Oct. 23 – Musical talent and Atlanta native, Matt Kabus, will perform live at the Loews Atlanta Hotel on Friday Nov. 8, 2013 at the Delta Air Lines Double Play seventh annual Benefit Bash with Mizuno Big League Players presented by Robert Mondavi Private Selection. All proceeds for the event benefit Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research (Rally). Kabus’ participation in this event is fueled by his personal connection to the cause. Matt and 11-year- old Rally Kid Lily became friends after performing many times together. Kabus was inspired by her courage and ability to be “Lily Strong.” Last December Lily lost her brave battle to cancer, and Kabus wrote and produced a song in her memory. “The inspiration for ‘Lily’s Song’ came from my hope to keep her legacy going strong and to fund pediatric cancer research in Lily’s name,” Kabus said. “Despite her struggle, she was always so positive and passionate about everything she did. I hope to empower others to live life the way Lily did through my performance.” Kabus will be accompanied by performing arts students from The Galloway School to debut “Lily’s Song” at this year’s Benefit Bash. “Lily’s Song” will also soon be available on iTunes and all proceeds will help establish a Rally Kid Research Fund in Lily’s honor. “Lily captured my heart and the hearts of so many others, including Matt. Rally is honored to be partnering with Matt to honor Lily by establishing a research fund in her name,” said Dean Crowe, Founder and CEO of Rally. “I will always remember when Lily sang the National Anthem at the Braves game a few years ago. It was a special moment for everyone. I miss her feisty fun personality and think this a perfect tribute to her.” In addition to Kabus debuting “Lily’s Song”, guests will have the opportunity to participate in both live and silent auctions and enjoy a variety of gourmet food and beverages. The event will also feature a Rally Kids, kids that are or have fought cancer, sharing their inspiring stories. Tickets to the special event have sold out six years in a row. Since its inception in 2005, Rally has awarded more than $4 million in research grants supporting more than 70 projects nationwide. Grants are awarded through a competitive peer review process assuring that the best research is funded. To find out more about Rally and the Benefit Bash, visit RallyFoundation.org.
