Currently Marvin Ayres is undertaking a national UK BBC radio tour performing live sessions and promoting his new release 'Eccentric Deliquescence',

 

Marvin's forthcoming projects will include new productions, compositions and collaborations with a rising Opera singer, an International concert Accordianist and a cross cultural collaborative album exploring ethnic instruments, with a Turkish guitarist.

 

He is also devising an installation with Unfashion Events for the opening of the Kaiser and Creme gallery in Frankfurt in October 2008. His music will feature in an opening of an exhibition at the Red Gallery in London 4th/5th September 2008.

 

The music video "Can you Hear Me Now" directed by Unfashion Events founder Pavel Rudanovsky  will be included in this exhibition.

 

Marvin has also been invited to improvise live mixes of cello and violin with the beats of top russian DJs The Sexy Twins when they perform at the Indig02 in October 2008 as part of their world tour..

 

In 2009 Ayres has been invited to perform in modern- classical and electronica festivals from the Arctic Circle to Dubai . He will also be presenting full evenings of his work in key concert halls including The Purcell Rooms in London's South Bank Centre and the Carnegie Hall in New York.

 

These events will feature string ensemble performances of Marvin Ayres pieces from Neptune and Eccentric Deliquescence, mixed live and conducted by Ayres and including dance pieces and solos resulting from Marvin's present collaborations. Marvin will play improvisatory solos and themes from his work demonstrating his unique multi layered spacial ambience. The evenings will be Art Directed by Unfashion Events with beautiful and completely new visual effects.

Marvin Ayres is a composer/cellist and producer. Ayres has recorded a diverse selection of ambient and 'string design' albums, and produced a number of sensual jazz and film soundtracks that combine classical technique with free-form extemporization.

He has composed soundtracks for Channel 4 programmes including ‘The Bin Man' directed by Peter Lydon (Hungry Man), with whom he also recently collaborated on a short commercial for the Manhattan Film Festival.
He also scored the soundtrack for one of the first inter active feature films on DVD (Seven Swords) starring Brian Blessed.

In 2006 his music was featured throughout the US TV series ‘Life Among The Dead' and he composed the sound design for Tentacle Films' ‘Fish Eye' (with Stewart Copeland/The Police) – which was screened at the Sundance Festival .(FILMS)

As well as producing adverts, he scores, arranges and plays strings as a session player.

Ayres also collaborates with visual artists on audio/visual installations, which have been exhibited in major galleries and art houses in Europe and the U.S.

In 1999 he was signed to the avant-garde label Mille Plateaux as composer/producer, and released two ambient albums, Cellosphere and Neptune to critical acclaim. (REVIEWS)

Excerpts of these works have been performed live in an array of forums such as: London's 'Festival of Electonica,' (with Groove Armada) and the inter-media cutting edge event 'Sprawl'.

In 2000, the ICA in London commissioned him to compose and produce their first ever DVD exhibition.

The two works resulting from this were Sensory and Cycle incorporated spatial soundscapes and psycho acoustics and were composed specifically for 5.1 Surround Sound and was released as a DVD. Marvin Ayres` collaborative film Scape is to this day a permanent fixture on exhibition at The Tate Modern.

Performance
His reputation as producer and performer came to the attention of Jaki Liebezeit (ex CAN), who invited him to re-mix tracks and tour with Liebezeit's band Club off Chaos in early 2001. Ayres is  commissioned by Einsturzende Neubauten's electronica music publishers Freibank ad has featured on 5 of their 'For Films'
series.

He is involved in producing and touring with MASK  , his ongoing project with vocalist Sonja Kristina.
