Q: How have you kept your fire burning for success? It's a lesson that many young people could learn from you.
A: Thanks for getting in touch. As far as the fire is concerned, well, that's there regardless of any actions, successes, circumstances--it's just something that is permanent and feels very separate from me in a lot of ways. I truly have no control over its existence. However, as far as the drive to succeed -- monetarily of course I want this so I can continue doing what I'm doing (and of course I will continue either way) because I have to, but I have learned in the past few years that it is up to me to make this 'thing' happen. I cannot sit and around and wait for someone else to do it for me. Yes, I have had much support along the way but bottom line it is me and my drive and my belief in myself and the work that keeps it all going. If I am not 'for' me who else will be? I have to say it has been very empowering for me in the past few years to see that I am willing to do what it takes to make things happen. I didn't even know I had this tenacity in me but I do and I'm grateful for that and it builds confidence. For me the key is to stay authentic to who I am and what I believe in -- (to work hard of course) and then to trust that what I have to offer is enough - it has to be, it's all I've got. peace passion M
