About
There are those musicians who can’t help but write about what they know… what they have experienced. Honest songs. Mark Brut certainly fits that mold.
Hailing from Philadelphia and recently relocated to Denver, Brut has spent the past 12 years in the south, mainly in Atlanta and the great music town of Athens, GA. He maintains strong roots to his hometown, but has also absorbed much of the music and culture that the south has to offer.
Beyond the songs, Mark’s strength lies in his guitar playing. While performing solo acoustic or electric in a band setting, Brut’s passion for life bleeds over into his playing. The diversity of his influences also is evident as you hear him play. Brut is also powerful as a cover artist, drawing from many different artists and making the songs his own.
Mark has been writing songs and performing in various formats for over a decade, most recently fronting the Athens, GA based Loose Cannon. Currently, he has been collaborating with numerous Colorado musicians and is exploring new projects.
Mark has been fortunate to share the stage and/or collaborate with artists such as Jerry Joseph & The Jackmormons, Patterson Hood of the Drive-By Truckers, Outformation, Dead Confederate, Bloodkin, North Mississippi All Stars, Bret Mosley, Bill McKay, Polytoxic, Adam Musick of Southern Bitch, David Barbe & the Quick Hooks, Speakeasy, Eric Martinez, Tori Pater, CR Gruver, Jason Marcum, Reagan Boggs, Tate Moore, Waylandsphere, Deep Blue Sun, Ralph Roddenberry, Adam Klein, Breaking & Entering, Josh Stack, Betsy Franck and many other local and national touring acts.
