L-Rey is lead by Martin Cantu,the lead vocalist.
Martin grew up San Francisco's urban Mission district. In the 70's Martin had the lead singer in a Latin Rock band called Malo,known for their smash hit "Suavecito", which alsofeatured Jeorge Santana on guitar. As part of Malo, Martin shared various stages with some of the greatest artist of our time including: Ricky Martin, Los Lobos, War, Chaka Khan, Paul Rodriguez Tierra and Santana.
