Bio
The writer and performer London Bridgez pushes the expectations of spoken word. "London" is her name. "Bridgez" represents what she does. She builds creative bridges between spoken word and music. Her stage performance creates a new wave of entertainment that can be expressed in multiple formats, she crosses over into many genres and can be appreciated in a variety of venue occasions.
About
She is an avid activist and believes in using her artwork to support philanthropy and social justice. London supported the 2008 PUMP UP THE VOTE fundraiser to rally new voters in the tristate area. Proceeds from the PUMP UP THE VOTE went towards civic engagement advocacy and pancreatic cancer research. She performed a special commemorative piece on Cambridge CCTV for World Aids Day, shared her work at the Bayard Rustin Community Breakfast sponsored by the Aids Action Committee and is performing at the opening ceremonies for the 2009 Aids Walk Boston. She performed in conjunction with the YWCA to support the production of VDAY Lawrence MA to end violence against women.
She has been on the radio airwaves in Boston,New Hampshire, Chicago, Nashville & Canada. She continues to grace the stages of concerts, music festivals, open mics,clubs, theaters, industry showcases, colleges & universities and themed events in Boston, New York, Chicago and hopes to expand her sound in the US and around the world to other venues that are supportive of her experimental sound.
