“This holiday season will be celebrated when Lisa Matassa’s video of “The Christmas Song,” featuring the New York City Broadway Youth Ensemble, makes its CMT debut beginning on December 8th. Bringing her voice to the often subtitled “Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire,” Lisa had always wanted to record her favorite Christmas song. “I still get so excited about the holidays and to sing with the children of the Broadway Youth Ensemble was an amazing moment for me,” says Lisa. “I felt like a kid again singing my favorite holiday song alongside these incredibly talented kids. “It’s not easy being a mother, wife and head of a household, never mind throwing country music star on top of that. Nevertheless, Lisa Matassa manages to be all of those things and more. Matassa, previously the 1980s dance-hit singer Lysa Lynn, has plunged back into music industry and has reinvented herself as Long Island’s first Country Star. The mother of two released her debut EP, “Me Time,” this past March. “It’s my life story in three minutes,” Matassa said about the song that inspired the EP’s title. “Sometimes you just want to sit back and say, I need some time for me.” Despite the gap between her first appearance in the music scene and “Me Time,” Matassa never stopped singing. In January, she headed down to Nashville to write and record and said she “felt right at home.” As of now, Matassa is playing shows on Long Island and recently finished an East Coast radio tour. “I’m living my dream and having a hell of a time!” exclaimed Matassa.”
