Hello friends! In 1983, Kallen Godsey and Shannon Rose Riley formed a band called LEATHERETTES. Soon after Sarah Gaither became the band's guitarist and within a few months she was replaced by Janey Guitar. During that time LEATHERETTES opened for bands like INXS at Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa and were regular performers at the Crystal Pistol. Kallen and Shannon wrote all of the band's material back in the early 80s and now, almost 30 years later, are working together again to reproduce new re-visions of some old songs and to develop new music--they are even exploring a cover or two, like Charismatic by Los Reactors and Warm Leatherette by the Normal. Both Kallen and Shannon also have extensive background as interdiciplinary visual and performance artists.

Shannon Rose has been making music since the late 70s when her then-boyfriend, Al Jourgensen, got her into her first band... a ska group whose name she can't recall. Not long after, Al introduced her to P.Michael and Travis of ONO and she played sax and percussion and did occasional vocals with ONO for a couple of years. At one point, she was the barritone saxophonist for the DIVINE show at Park West, with Al Jourgensen on guitar, Marty Sorenson of Special Affect on bass, Steve-O (early Ministry drummer) on drums, and Jack Sax on alto sax. Not long after, Shannon Rose began to play with Jack Sax... their sound was electronic/punk/funk and they opened for Ministry at Stages in Chicago before leaving for the Southwest in 1982 where they toured with various bands including Missing Persons. The two soon began to work under the name Jack/Riley and Associates... the Associates included many members from the early 80s Tulsa music scene, such as John Donovan, Mark Flood, Lon Jones, Kallen Godsey and others. Shannon Rose and Kallen Godsey soon began to work on music together, forming LEATHERETTES in 1983.

Shannon Rose still plays with ONO when she is back in her home town of Chicago.
