Diminished Fifth Records was formed in July 2006 by Josh Hogan (Vocalist for the band Orchids Curse) with the intentions to prove to Canada, and the rest of the world, that the East Coast has a worthy and unique Metal Scene.

So far the label has released 3 albums thus far with 2 new albums pending for May 2008.

Diminished Fifth Records also started Horns High Online Magazine in November 2007, which is a Free, monthly, online magazine dedicated to the East Coast Heavy Music Scene. 

The label has currently generated press and praise from various continents around the globe including, Alternative-Zine (Israel), Blabbermouth.net (USA), BW&BK Online (Canada), Chronicles of Chaos (South Africa), Earshot Online (Canada), Exclaim! Magazine (Canada) The Gauntlet (USA), Halifax Daily News (Canada), Harm Webzine (USA), Metal Storm (Estonia), The Metal Forge (Australia), Metal-Rules (Canada), The Moncton Times & Transcripts (Canada), Music Extreme (Argentina), and Unrestrained Magazine (Canada).

With two mammoth releases coming this April, and the continued growth of Horns High, the future looks bright for Diminished Fifth Records and the East Coast Metal Scene.
