2010 CHICAGO INTERNATIONAL MOVIES AND MUSIC FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES DATES AND CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

Chicago, IL (July 2009):  The Chicago International Movies and Music Festival (CIMMfest) is now accepting submissions for its second annual competition and festival in March 2010.  This annual event will continue the great success of the inaugural fest by showcasing films of and about music, music videos, soundscapes, documentaries about musicians and artists, and other syntheses of moving image and musical performance.

From March 4th to 7th, Chicago will host movie and music lovers from around the world.  Continuing on the smashing success of CIMMfest ’09, CIMMfest ’10 will consist of three full days of movie screenings, panel discussions, concerts, and other programs bringing together professionals and devotees from across the globe to entertain and educate.  Premieres by new and established film and video directors, as well as retrospectives, classic films, and videos will fill the days, and genre-bending musical performances will rule the nights at participating venues around the great music and movie town that is Chicago.

Awards will be presented in the following categories: Music Video, Feature Documentary, Short Documentary, Fictional Feature, Fictional Short, and the Special Jury Award.  Alongside the competition program, there will be film retrospectives of distinguished filmmakers and artists, special event screenings, and cutting-edge crossover media presentations.

Deadlines to submit U.S. and International films for CIMMfest ’10 are:

              August 7th, 2009 – Early Bird Deadline

              October 23rd, 2009 – Regular Deadline

              December 4th, 2009 – Late Deadline

              December 31st, 2009 – Without A Box Extended Deadline
