Bio

SUNSHINE SMITTEN ROCKER

Being an Aussie girl, now living and writing in fabulous NYC, I look to the sun, the beach and all things glorious for inspiration. Originally from sunny Perth, Western Australia, I came to NYC in search of inspiration and adventure. New York has since become my home and my muse.

While I had been writing on and off over the years, it wasn't until a trip to London that I decided to make things happen. Sitting in a hotel room, watching the London rain, I decided it was time to follow my heart and pursue my passions.

Enter NYC....and a musical rollercoaster ride.

About

Publicist - Sean-Patrick Hillman - sean-patrick@corbinpr.com

Co-writer - Griffin (see Kylie for details to contact Griffin)

So, I moved to NYC and had a few cultural differences to deal with like using the words “flip flop” instead of “thong”, people thinking I’m from Sweden or Texas (seriously), and trying to give it a red hot go in one of the coolest, but toughest markets in the world. NYC is definitely a unique city. And it’s affected me as a songwriter and human in so many ways.

I was signed to music publishing company Missing Link Music in January 2009 and am in the studio recording new songs with my co-writer Griffin. I recently performed for the SESAC Writers on the Storm showcase for up and coming talent and was featured as a Spotlight Member with the Songwriters Guild of America. I've played in famous NYC venues such as Rockwood Music Hall, Baggot Inn, The Bitter End, Caffe Vivaldi, The Sidewalk Cafe, Banjo Jim's, Parkside Lounge and Waltz-Astoria.

But at the end of the day, you can take a girl from Australia, but you can’t take Australia out of the girl. And you can give an Aussie a flip flop, but it's still a thong.

So, welcome to my music. These songs remind me of endless summer days back in Australia, the beach and sunshine. I hope you enjoy them!

Kylie x
