Come to this! Better yet, come to both! This will be a shakedown gig prior to our Yoshi's show.Armando's is a great room. It's intimate, friendly, unpretentious, great acoustics, and cheap for the audience. All the musicians I know love Armando's - the place really has the right spirit. Roy Jeans and Eloise Cotton, who operate Armando's, love music.
Kurt Ribak Quartet - Kurt on upright, Greg Sankovich keyboards, Lincoln Adler sax, Rob Hart drums. The Albatross has been around since 1964. Good drinks, darts, board games - and us. We play 3 sets, from 9:30 PM to 12:30 AM.
House concert. Kurt on bass, Greg Sankovich on keys, Lincoln Adler on sax, and Michaelle Goerlitz on percussion. It's a small room so go to the www.berkeleyhouseconcerts.org site to reserve seats beforehand.
This is a new place for us. It's a couple of years old and is where Skip's Tavern was in Bernal Heights. It keeps the neighborhood bar vibe of Skip's but is a big upgrade. Still casual and funky but no disinfectant smell. It's been described as a dive bar but the bartenders make drinks with care, using quality ingredients. There's some food there, and it's got a rep as a good place to hear live music and enjoy a drink or two. Come show your love so we get booked back! Randy Odell is on drums, Tom Griesser is on woodwinds, and Scott Foster is on guitar.
