Kid Francescoli was founded in the year 2000 by Mathieu Hocine.
After numerous tries, the band stabilized around four musicians : Mathieu (guitar/voice), Laetitia (melodica/voice), david (keyboards/backing vocals) and olivier (bass, backing vocals).
As this football player from uruguay who played for the Marseille football team at the end of the eighties, Kid Francescoli are playing a simple and straightforward music.
Behind strong melodies, Kid Francescoli are singing in english and italian. Personal lyrics about the fears of a young man and the dreams of a young girls as their thirties are coming. As the french band "les Little Rabits" Kid Francescoli are inventing an english-italian pop.
Pop music, with its short scale, catchy choruses and efficient instrumental is the essence of the band, somewhere between The Flaming Lips, Grandaddy and DJ Shadow.
Italian gastronomy, cinema and music (Ennio Morricone in particular) are also a strong influence for the band. In this sense, the band can be compared to french espoirs Syd Matters and Sebastien Schuller .
Their works already attracted the attention of many independent artists promotional supports :
In 2002, the song " mad legs " was pre-selectioned for the compilation " cqfd " released each year by the french magazine " les inrockuptibles "
In 2004, they participated to the finals of the " projet demo " contest where an artist is selectioned to play the the benicasim festival in Spain.
In 2005, Kid Francescoli are recording their first record.
In 2006 Kid Francescoli are releasing their first record on our label and the reviews are enthusiastic. The band becomes a major participant of french indie-pop. They tour in France, Luxembourg and Italia.
Kid Francescoli are working on their second record, to be released in september 2008.

A l'instar du footballeur uruguayen qui a porté les couleurs de l'OM à la fin des années 1980, idole du jeune M.Hocine (et du jeune Z.Zidane), le Kid propose une musique techniquement impeccable, mais qui sait rester simple et toujours efficace.
Derrière l'omniprésence des mélodies, Kid Francescoli propose des textes chantés en anglais et en italiens. Des textes personnels qui traitent des angoisses d'un jeune homme et des rêves d'une jeune fille à l'aube de leur 30 ans.
A l'instar des premiers titres du groupe 90's nantais, les Little Rabits, Kid Francescoli invente une véritable pop anglo-ritale.
La pop anglo-saxonne, son format court, ses refrains accrocheurs et ses instrumentaux bien sentis, fournit la matière sonore du groupe quelque part entre The Flaming Lips, Grandaddy et DJ Shadow.
Tandis que la péninsule italienne devient pour ce groupe pop marseillais une source d'inspiration, sous influence d'une culture ciné-gastro-musicale et de la musique d'Ennio Morricone
